Thank you, and I agree, I can't believe we didn't stop to take any photos! 😅 The entrance is a door stylized with a big, round design (though it's not actually a round door) and it looked so cool that we wanted to take a picture in front of it. BUT as we were walking up, the hostess opened the door and invited us in--our first taste of the friendly, outstanding service there--and we forgot to try taking one on the way out. 🤣
Thank you! ❤️ Anna really is the best. I tend to focus more on the silly moments here because they’re easier to draw (for me at least), but sweet has its place, too! 😁✨
Thank you, we really did have lots of fun! The wine bar was crowded while we were at the store because there was a book club in session. How cool is that? 😁✨
23 years--half your lives! Wow. Hobbit Restaurant looked amazing! Although far more modern and tasteful than I expected it to be based on their website. I was expecting a very different vibe!
Same! When Anna first found it online I thought, 1. is this officially licensed? 🤣 And 2. how can a restaurant based on *The Hobbit* be a fancy, anniversary-worthy place? It was a delightful surprise! ✨
It occurs to me that Peggy and my four-year-old (almost five-year-old now, actually) would be great friends. They could snack on candy together, watch each other’s cool moves/tricks, and punch mean boys (like Jeremy, or a boy in her daycare class she punched a few months ago). 😆
Oh no! I'm sure that was a fun conversation with the teacher! 😅 But yes, Peggy would definitely love to be friends with her... we may need to cook something up for this upcoming birthday! 🤔✨🎉🐴🪽
Happy Anniversary Josh!!! That Hobbit restaurant sounds so cool and dreamy! Saw some pics online, what an experience. I’ll check it out if I’m ever over there. The comic made me chuckle too 🍭🍬🐴🪽
Thanks! And I agree that candy is a necessity—my own sweet tooth is why many of my characters (including Peggy) crave sugar so much. Anna doesn’t crave sweets quite as much as I do, though! 😅✨
Happy anniversary!! I have been married longer than half my life, but I got started earlier and am a few years older. Great comic as always. I love the lamp falling over in the last frame. 😂 Thank you for the shout out!!
Thanks! Here’s to finding the people who complete us at every age! ❤️ The lamp thing was a last-minute add. It was funny with Peggy just sticking out from the curtain, but I thought it needed just a touch more to really emphasize that she’s trying her best to cram all 1000 pounds of winged horse into a tiny space! 🤣✨
I can’t wait for the day I feel comfortable enough with my character drawing to include cameos! 😁 There were so many candy stores—I swear there was one on every block. I’ve gotta start carrying a portable scale with me when we go on vacation instead of relying on my rusty weight estimation skills! 🤣 We didn’t do too bad, though, and managed to keep our haul to 2 pounds.
Happy anniversary. And no photos from the hobbit restaurant?!?!?! Hope it turns up in a comic.

Happy anniversary! This is so so sweet

Bookstore / wine bar? I'm so in! Sounds like you had a great time!

Love it!!
Please tell me you'll get that second panel printed and framed. It's the CUTEST!
Happy Anniversary to you both! Sounds like a fantastic trip.
Aww, thank you! ❤️ I think that’s the first time I’ve attempted to draw a kiss! 😅✨

Happy anniversary!! Sounds like a lovely celebration!
Thank you, it was! 😁✨
Love the comic!! 😆 Happy anniversary to you both, and I’m glad to hear you had a lovely and rejuvenating vacation! 💗
Thank you! It's always good to visit the ocean, with or without the candy stores! 🤣😁✨

Thank you! We had a great time and I love getting to share the experience with my awesome creative crew! 😁✨
Happy anniversary! Candy is an important food group

You nailed it! Those small details make big differences sometimes 😊
I can't believe you didn't draw me standing next to Peggy begging for candy! 😂
