Who Needs Ideas?
Just me and Anna and... that's about it.
I choose to draw my comics the same day I post them because it forces me to make something even if I’m not convinced it’s the best thing to make. I could have drawn a story about any one of the things Anna mentions in panel 5, but I couldn’t decide.
I do keep a journal, but I could do better about implementing a sketchbook practice or jotting down ideas as they come.
Sometimes, though, you just need a couple characters and a situation, even when that situation is indecision! 🤣
In other creative efforts, I’ve faltered a bit in my National Poetry Month project. I think I’ve missed 4 days now, but I’m hoping to make them up and still finish April with 30 poems.
And some of you might also be wondering, “Where the hay is the next episode of Peggy’s adventure story???” I did have some tech problems this week and that slowed me down a bit, but I have the next episode completely penciled. My goal is to get it posted before the end of the month.
I made my first post on Substack a year ago this week, and it’s been so much fun meeting all you incredible, creative people. I hadn’t imagined myself drawing comics before, and I still have a lot to learn, but this community has taken my creativity and confidence to a new level!
So thank you all for being here, for your kindness and support, for sharing your projects and passions. I couldn’t have created as many of these comics as I have without you. ❤️
Have a great week and keep being awesome!

Happy Substackiversary! So grateful we connected here and can cheer each other on. The panel of you and Anna holding hands is my favorite. It's really a sweet moment.
so cute!
