Spring Drawings
A couple old Peggy pics
I had a few things come up this week that, while not unexpected, took a bit more time and energy than I had anticipated! I’m a bit tapped out and not up for drawing a new comic today.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t dig into the archives and find some fun Peggy pictures!
These are both from a couple years ago, and you can tell my style has changed a little bit since then. But they’re still pretty fun scenes and I don’t think I’ve shared them here before.
First up is a St. Patrick’s Day-themed scene. Peggy sliding down a rainbow is such a joyous image, right? Of course, the treasure she hopes for isn’t a pot of gold, but bags of sugar cubes!
If I were drawing this over, I’d lengthen her body a little and fix the angle of her hind legs. This is also one of the few Peggy drawings in which I forgot her chestnut. Not that I’m trying to be overly critical here; I’m just acknowledging that I’ve learned a few things since I made this particular piece.
Easter’s still a few weeks away, but I thought I’d include this drawing of Peggy painting eggs, too. Maybe she should have sourced her eggs more responsibly, though!
Again, I forgot Peggy’s chestnut! And her jawline is… not right. 🤣 But I love her expression and her little bunny ears headband. Peggy just always seems to get herself into trouble with animals in trees!
Have a good and creative week, everyone!

The Peggy on the rainbow slide is adorable!
Cute work! Thank you for sharing Peggy, I adore her! and 100% understand being tapped out. Your comment below:
"Thanks! I really should do a few more of these one-off scenes for that very reason. Peggy brings big energy and personality to any scenario!" - yes that's a great way to approach. If you're not feeling in a narrative mood, consider doing one off gags like I did with M.A.R.T.H.A. - if you need inspiration, look to some of the old Harvey comic covers - they weren't always 'jokes', but sometimes were just a sort of 'scenic' of characters interacting and having a good time - I found it really got my imagination cooking when I did the "Joy Bingo" series - I didn't have to tell a story, necessarily, I just had to find something that I found joy in and then figured which character also shared that same interest - just suggesting some ways that you might approach your work. :) I could see Peggy trying to talk to the horses on a merry go round or putting on wings and being a 'horse fly'. BTW I cannot draw animals at all and I am very impressed how well you draw Peggy -
