Thanks! 😁 I usually don’t like to talk about my birthday—you’ll notice I only said ‘April’ and saved this post for the last day of the month—but this is such a wonderful tradition I thought it deserved a comic. ✨
Happiest of birthday to you!🎉 Peggy's expressions and Anna's movement are so well done. Nothing boring about it! And totally agree with you on drawing hands. I don't get why, though! I met with comic illustrator recently and I think I just need to come up with any easy style for me and go from there.
Have you ever tried making French toast with the leftover carrot cake? So good!
What is this “leftover” of which you speak? 🤣🤣🤣 That is an awesome idea though. Maybe if I can restrain myself a little we’ll give that a try!
I probably shouldn’t have said “boring” since it sounds a little judgy and I didn’t mean it that way. It just felt like I had 4 panels that were all very similar and I usually mix it up more. But it worked, so there’s probably a good lesson there. 😁
Thank you! And just to be clear, I didn’t mean I thought it was boring in a self-judgmental kind of way. It just felt like I was drawing the same panel 4 times. 😅 But that served the story, so I think it was good practice.
Thanks! I’m not sure how I got to like carrot cake so much, as we rarely had it when I was growing up. I think most of my family didn’t care for it, but I’ve always been a little contrary! 🤔🤣
Happy birthday!! And thanks for sharing Anna!!

and a wonderful comic it is!
Sounds yummy! I love the panel of Peggy’s shock. Happy birthday! 💗
Thanks! Yeah, I couldn’t resist a gag about Peggy discovering another variety of sugar! 🤣🤣🤣
Happy belated birthday! I love seeing the exchange between Peggy and Anna. This one is clever.
Thank you! It's fun writing the different dynamic between Peggy and Anna. 😁
Happy birthday!
Thanks! It was a good month. Busy, but good. And there was cake! 😁

Sometimes I’ll bake a bread--banana, zucchini--*just* for the french toast!
Happy birthday!! Love carrot cake!! And nothing visually boring — you’re doing great!

Prefect!! Yes. I think so too!
This is a fun and yummy entry, Josh. And I love all those "sugar" veggies: carrots, beets, and sweet potatoes.
Thanks! And yeah, I’m all about the sweet veggies too. Buttered sweet corn in the summer, sweet potato pie in the fall… 😁
So much fun! I love carrot cake (And beets and sweet potatoes, unfortunately haha)!

Same - I did not have it growing up! But having since moved to Appalachia (from Midwest) I find it more popular here!
